OLD FASHIONED CHRISTMAS SUGAR COOKIES

Ingredients;
1 cup butter or margarine
2 cups sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
sugar

Preparation;
Cream butter; beat in sugar gradually. Add eggs, milk, and vanilla extract; stir to blend. Combine and sift flour, baking powder; add gradually to creamed mixture, mixing thoroughly. Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight. Shape dough into 3/4-inch balls. Place 2" apart on greased baking sheet. Flatten with bottom of glass that's been greased and dipped in granulated sugar. Decorate with colored sugar sprinkles. Bake at 375° for 8-10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Remove to racks immediately to cool.
Makes about 3 dozen Christmas cookies.


BROWN SUGAR WALNUT COOKIES

Ingredients;
1/2 cup Butter
1 cup Brown sugar
2 Eggs
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1/4 cup Milk
3/4 teaspoon Baking soda
2 cups Flour
3/4 cup walnuts; chopped
Walnut halves

Preparation;
Cream butter and sugar together until light; add vanilla and eggs; beat well. Dissolve soda in milk; add flour and walnuts. Dough should be just stiff enough to draw from end of spoon. Just before placing in oven, sift granulated sugar over cookies and put a half walnut on each. Bake at 375° for 8 to 10 minutes, until lightly browned. Makes about 3 dozen cookies.


BUTTERSCOTCH CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

Ingredients;
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup butter, room temperature
1 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
2 large eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup butterscotch chips
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Preparation;
Mix together the flour and baking soda. Set aside. Cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract. Stir flour mixture into the creamed  mixture. Fold in pecans, butterscotch chips, and chocolate chips. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Place balls about 2 inches apart on greased baking sheets. Flatten each cookie slightly. Bake at 350° for about 10 to 15 minutes, or until lightly browned. Cool in pan for a minute then move to rack to cool completely. Makes about 5 dozen butterscotch chocolate chip cookies.
